The four questions everyone asks first
Does it film inside the house?
No. The AdCare screen does not film and does not record background audio. Its camera turns on only when your parents choose: photographing a prescription so the screen can read it back, or a video call with family. Otherwise it stays off.
My parents don’t use a smartphone. Does this still work?
They never need one. The sensors run in the background and your parents go about their day. The house gets one large screen with big text and big buttons — they say “Hey Joe” and Mr Joe answers in their language, to call family, hear reminders, or look at photos. The phone app is for family.
How long does setup take? Any drilling?
No drilling and no wiring. The screen plugs into an outlet, and the sensors connect once — after that they report on their own. It goes up in one visit and nothing in the house has to move.
How do I find out when something happens?
It depends on the level your parents chose for you. When something is out of the ordinary, your phone gets a message with context — “Mom hasn’t left her room this morning, 7:40” — not a number with no meaning. When they press SOS, you are always told. If you want a person, call the line; a real person answers, in your language.

Privacy belongs to your parents. Each family member is invited at one of four levels, and your parents can change anyone’s level at any time.

Being honest with them is the best approach, and AdCare is built so that conversation is easy: your parents choose who to invite and at what level — Share everything, Health summary, Alerts only, or Private — and can change it any time. No filming, no background recording. Most of the time Mr Joe is simply someone to talk to and a way to call you or put on music. Many parents say yes because it genuinely is “so the kids can stop worrying.”
Does it keep working when the internet goes down?
Partly, and the limit is worth knowing. Sensor readings still come in, medication reminders still play on time, and first-aid steps are still read aloud — those lines are recorded on the device. Readings and what your parents did are kept and sent the moment the line is back. What needs the connection: Mr Joe answering a new question (that needs AdCare’s AI servers), alerts to family, and calls — so while the line is down, family won’t get alerts yet.
My parents live in another country and I’m in the US. Does that work?
The setup does not change: the equipment goes in their home, and family gets alerts on their phones wherever they are. Whether we deliver, install, and support where your parents actually live is one phone call to find out — ask before you gift it, not after.
